Day 6: Etosha National Park

Chudob waterhole is filled with impalas

The Chudob waterhole is filled with action as impalas drink with caution as the sun begins to set.

Up before sunrise and waited for gate to open. Again we started out at sunrise and visited several waterholes. As headed out, a hyenna crossed our path right where the leopard had eaten the springbok the night before.

First stop was Kalkheukel, good choice with the sun at our backs. A great deal of activity there with oryx, kudu, impalas and zebras.

Many birds around like a Martial Eagle and Guinea Fowl were everywhere.

Day 5: Etosha National Park

A leopard awakes after an afternoon nap and meal of springbok

A leopard awakes after an afternoon nap and meal of a springbok antelope.

Up early and checked out of Halali camp and drove to Goas. There we saw an injured lion along the parking area near the waterhole. She had a puncture mark on her upper chest. Perhaps from a fight with another member of her pride. Off in the distance was an injured ornx. If you can two and two together, maybe a fight with the oryx.

Then headed to Ngobib Waterhole, not a good location. Some animals but difficult to shoot. Off to Kalkheukel and saw some elephants. Sat there awhile and some kudus and zebras showed off, also a hyena.
