A pride of lions rest in the grass at the Salvadora waterhole.

Up early and here at this Halali camp, the gates open up at first light. Rushed to eat and get some gasoline. Drove to Goas Waterhole and hung out there for a few hours. Not much going on there today.

Tried several other holes all morning and found animals scarce as temperatures soared to 38 celsius (100 degrees). Finally saw lions playing at Salvadora.

Drove east with no luck, turned around and checked a few shots. Headed to Goas again, spotted elephants along the road. Returned to Halali camp to cool off and went out again at 3:45.

Checked out two waterholes in the evening and there was no activity. Quiet and hot day for all.
