2015 St. Patricks Day Parade

Shamrocks and rainbow banners waved in New York City’s St. Patrick’s Day parade up Fifth Avenue. The parade stepped off with a jovial Cardinal Timothy Dolan as grand marshal. “I’m as radiant as the sun, so thanks be to God for the honor and the joy,” said the archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York.

SwimCity festival 2015

The area around Herald Square in New York City has become SwimCity for the next two days for the release of the 2015 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. The fan festival features live musical performances, and swimsuit models were on hand to pose for photos and sign copies of the new swimsuit issue.

2014 NYC Veterans Day Parade

Thousands of veterans and their supporters marched up Fifth Avenue in New York, home to the nation's oldest Veterans Day parade. The holiday known as Armistice Day held special meaning in the centennial year of the start of World War I. At 11 a.m. — the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month — a solemn hush fell over Manhattan's Madison Square Park as veterans laid wreaths under the Eternal Light Monument to honor the fallen.
