The Streets of Camden

High-tech policing and a renewed focus on community-officer partnerships are helping to bring calm to Camden, N.J., but it hasn’t been a cure-all. The impoverished town of 77,000 is still the most violent and crime-plagued city in the Garden State. A local police took Yahoo News photographer Gordon Donovan to Camden’s most blighted areas — where illegal drugs are dealt and criminals use the wasteland to try and evade capture.

SwimCity festival 2015

The area around Herald Square in New York City has become SwimCity for the next two days for the release of the 2015 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. The fan festival features live musical performances, and swimsuit models were on hand to pose for photos and sign copies of the new swimsuit issue.

New York City Building Collapse

A residential building in Manhattan exploded and collapsed on Wednesday, killing at least one person and injuring 17 others as a serious fire engulfed the area in thick smoke, officials said. Read more
