Arismendy Nunez grew up in the Dominican Republic but now lives on Long Island in New York. He has worked for the New York Mets as the the visiting clubhouse’s attendant and bat boy for three seasons.
You can see him at every Mets home game retrieving bats at the plate and being hounded by obnoxious fans demanding a baseball. Nunez always tries to accommodate fans despite age and behavior.
His day starts hours before the game preparing the visitor’s clubhouse and dugout with equipment, uniforms, and refreshments.
He then helps out with batting practice for the visiting Major Leagues teams at Citi Field in Queens, N.Y. — collecting baseballs and supplying snacks.
He’s met many of the biggest names in the game and always helps with their requests and demands.
Arismendy has the unique privilege to be the only regular season Met employee who works on the field to wear the uniform of nearly every team (except the Mets) in the big leagues in 2018.
