Victory parade for U.S. women’s soccer team

Charles Lindbergh was awarded one after his solo transatlantic flight, and then-Gen. Dwight Eisenhower was honored with one for his leadership of the Allied Forces. Astronauts, world leaders, a pope and war veterans all have been honored with ticker-tape parades in New York City's famed Canyon of Heroes. Now, the Women's National Team is the center of the celebration on Wednesday, commemorating its World Cup win in France on Sunday.

2019 New York City pride parade

Tens of thousands of marchers paraded through New York streets Sunday in a huge LGBTQ pride parade, with many proudly carrying rainbow flags or carrying signs.

On foot, astride motorcycles or riding on flatbed trucks, participants slowly covered the 2-mile route from Midtown Manhattan to Greenwich Village, where the movement for gay rights was born after the so-called Stonewall riots of 1969.

Same place, different team uniforms: Bat boy dons opposing team jerseys in 2018

Arismendy Nunez grew up in the Dominican Republic but now lives on Long Island in New York. He has worked for the New York Mets as the the visiting clubhouse’s attendant and bat boy for three seasons.

You can see him at every Mets home game retrieving bats at the plate and being hounded by obnoxious fans demanding a baseball. Nunez always tries to accommodate fans despite age and behavior.

Sojourn back to the landscapes and wildlife of Namibia

For over two weeks, photographer Gordon Donovan traveled more than 2,700 miles throughout Namibia, across deserts, grasslands and mountains. Armed with two cameras and an assortment of lenses, he journeyed to Sossusvlei, a photographer's paradise of rich colors and texture. The final ten days of his journey were a one-man road trip through the vast landscapes of Etosha National Park to capture the region’s thriving wildlife, natural beauty, and incredible night skies.
